Rigging Qualification Refresher

Class Description

This 16-hour Rigging Re-fresher course covers Safety regulations and practices related to rigging, rigging hardware and safe rigging practices.
Participants must hold a current 40-hour Rigging Qualification Card. Materials need for class: pencils, notebook and calculator.

  • Members that currently hold a Rigging Qualification must complete a 16-hour refresher in order to remain valid.
  • Starting January 1, 2023, there will no longer be a one-year grace period to take a refresher for the Rigging Qualification.
  • If you fail to retake a refresher before your qualification expires then you will have to retake a 40-hour Rigging Qualification course to re-qualify.
  • Check your TVC to see when your’s expires. If the qualification does not display when you scan the QR reader, that means it is already expired.
  • You can also call the office to verify your expiration date. 617-206-5773.

Failing to take refresher course prior to its expiration date means you must take the  40 hour Rigging Qualification course to re-certify.

NO EXCEPTIONS: IF YOUR CERTIFICATION IS EXPIRED by the date of the scheduled refresher course YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO TAKE THIS CLASS.

Required Equipment

Members attending training must provide their own safety shoes, safety goggles, gloves, ear protection and hard hats. Failure to provide your own safety equipment may result in your being dropped from a particular training session.

Attendance Requirements

Attendance at the first training session is mandatory. 100% attendance is required for all courses that issue Certificates or Qualifications and Apprentice mandatory training. Please be on time! Late arrivals (and early departures) are disruptive to instructors and participants. Poor attendance / disruptive behavior will result in your being dropped from a particular training session.

Cancellation Policy

To maximize the effectiveness of our training sessions, we limit the number of attendees. If you are registered for a specific training and need to cancel, please notify us five (5) business days before the start of scheduled training. Failure to notify us of cancellation may result in your being denied registration for future training. We reserve the right to cancel any course - with two (2) business days’ notice - for which there is an insufficient number of registered attendees. Registrants may then enroll in the next available offering of the course, or cancel the registration.
